Namaste, Rad Fae of the Great NorthWest!
Just want to introduce myself. I'm new to this tribe, and would love to get aquainted. My hubby and I have been active in the Faeries in the area for several years here in Dallas, TX. Luck has it that we will be moving to WA in the next couple of months. This is a return home for me, and a new sojourn for my beloved.
Please feel free to say hello anytime. Also, any info on Faerie friendly places in WA would be immensely appreciated.
Much thanks and love,
Tower and Tapestry

Re: Greeting and Salutations
Tue, January 23, 2007 - 10:05 PMwelcome!
as for faerie-friendly places, portland has by far the biggest (both raw numbers and per capita) and most active faerie community. but that's in OR and you said WA. there's no shortage of faeries in seattle, but the community here is pretty disconnected and inactive. there is a small weekly coffee that a half dozen regulars will attend on a good day.
i may know more about other, smaller towns soon. i'm at a change-point in my life. the job that was responsible for my moving to seattle has disappeared, so i'm deciding if i'll stay (leaning against it), move to another, smaller town (probably olympia or bellingham, but i haven't done any on-the-ground research), move back to portland (more possible than staying, but still inclined against it) or move somewhere else entirely.
i fantasize of living/working at breitenbush hot springs (in the oregon cascades east of salem), but that's an intentional community and it all depends on being hired and accepted for membership -- decisions that are largely outside of my control, so can't count on it happening.
before you get all enthusiastic about portland from the above, realize that it's economically depressed there. unless you have a portable skill or are self-employed, it can be very difficult to find employment. -

Sun, January 28, 2007 - 1:20 PMHey Watermelon!
Your technical skills would certainly be a great asset at Breitenbush. They've taken on a fair bit of techno-gadgetry in recent years, and struggle sometimes keeping it all dancing. I think it would be a big plus for the community if their Systems team included an experienced computer geek with fluent Mac and PC skills, since they're bi that way.
I hope life flows nicely for you,
Damien

Sat, February 17, 2007 - 10:51 PMThanks for the info... much appreciated. We look forward to making road trips to OR, but only to visit... plan to be in Seattle by the end of the year. I'm a fae of many persuasion, professionally speaking, can usually find something to pay the bills. I sincerely wish you happiness wherever your journey takes you.
